Background and experience

Andrea is a board registered psychologist and clinical psychology registrar who specialises in the assessment and management of a range of presenting issues affecting children, young people and their families.

Andrea has worked extensively with children and young people experiencing concerns including low mood, anxiety, and oppositional and other challenging behaviours, and she has a special interest in working with parents to enhance positive parent-child interactions using evidence-based strategies. Andrea also has experience conducting cognitive and educational assessments.

Andrea strives to always maintain a client-centred approach in her practice and believes that comprehensive assessment that considers multiple sources of information is essential to planning effective therapy. Andrea’s approach to therapy is grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; however, she believes that flexibly applying a range of evidence-based strategies is often the best way to ensure highly individualised and effective care.
